The politician and public figure Akhmatbek Keldibekov has held various high positions in the financial sector and parliament throughout his career. He was the speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh of the 5th convocation, headed the Social Fund and tax authorities, and was also elected as a deputy.In 2022, the Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek acquitted him on three charges related to corruption and abuse of office, although the Supreme Court had previously overturned the decisions and sent the case for reconsideration.
In September 2024, it became known that he had resigned from his position as president of the Federation of Weightlifting of Kyrgyzstan. In August 2025, the demolition of structures in the water protection zone began in Osh, including the restaurant "Baysan," which is linked to Keldibekov.
