The Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan in Germany commented on the situation
Omurbek Tekebaev, the current ambassador of Kyrgyzstan in Germany, commented on the information regarding his name found in documents related to the case of American billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, who was convicted for sexual relations with minors and subsequently took his own life.
The diplomat noted that he was detained in 2017 while returning from Vienna to Bishkek. At that time, there was a rise in political tension in Kyrgyzstan, which led to protests from his supporters. International observers also pointed to instability in the country, warning of the possibility of events similar to those that occurred in 2010.
"In light of the analysis of political risks, my name was mentioned in international analytical materials, and later this was reflected in the so-called Epstein files. Other historical figures were also mentioned, such as Hitler, Stalin, Mao, and Castro," Tekebaev added.
It is worth reminding that as part of the investigation into the Epstein case, U.S. authorities published millions of documents, including text, photo, and video materials.
