The press service of the Jogorku Kenesh denied rumors that speaker Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu may be removed from office.
In an official statement, the press service said: “Reports about the possible resignation of speaker Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu are unfounded.
This issue has not been raised in the Jogorku Kenesh. At the moment, the speaker is on an official visit to Turkey as part of a parliamentary delegation.”
It should be noted that earlier information emerged about a potential replacement for the speaker after his return to Kyrgyzstan, which is related to recent events surrounding the resignation of the chairman of the State Committee for National Security Kamybek Tashiev.
