Japarov emphasized that he performs his duties strictly. "The interests of the people and the state will always be above personal ambitions or friendships," he added. According to him, everything began with the actions of certain parliamentary groups that started dividing deputies into "their own" and "others," asking questions about political loyalty: "Whose side are you on?" The answers to these questions only heightened tensions, dividing deputies into the "general's side" and the "president's side." This division also affected the elders, who began gathering signatures for early elections, misleading society into thinking that their actions were coordinated with the highest authorities. Japarov stated that if he had not intervened, the situation could have escalated into a conflict among the population.
The president added that he warned Tashiev about his decision, emphasizing that it could save his friend's life, as the elders were misleading him.According to Japarov, using Kamchybek Tashiev as a cover, some individuals attempted to persuade deputies and significant public figures to switch to the general's side. The dismissal of Tashiev, in the president's opinion, prevented a possible split in the state structure and society, which was extremely important for maintaining stability.
He also noted that there is no division into teams when appointing positions, and each appointment goes through strict scrutiny. "There is no concept of 'Tashiev's team' or 'Japarov's team'," he said. The president Japarov refuted rumors that an agreement had been reached between him and Tashiev regarding alternating the presidency. "In Kyrgyzstan, decisions about leadership are made not by a narrow group but by the entire people," he emphasized, reminding that every citizen has the right to participate in elections. "Statements that one term is occupied by one person and another by another contradict democratic principles," Japarov added.
To avoid misunderstandings, he called on the Constitutional Court to provide a clear legal definition of the situation.
Furthermore, the president reported that law enforcement agencies would assess the scale of the campaign related to the appeal of 75 individuals and determine how many people actually participated in it. "The number of participants may be greater than reported, but I will wait for the investigation results to provide a final comment," concluded the head of state.
On February 10, the president signed a decree according to which Kamchybek Tashiev was relieved of his duties as Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Chairman of the State Committee for National Security. Jumgalbek Shabdanbekov was appointed as acting chairman of the GKNB. Three deputy chairmen of the GKNB were also dismissed.
