How Bishkek has changed over the past year and what the city authorities plan

At the final meeting of the city hall held on February 12, 2026, at the "Tunguch" theater, Adylbek Kasymaliev, head of the Cabinet, summarized the capital's performance for 2025 and outlined plans for the future.

First Deputy Mayor Mirlanbek Baigonchokov reported that an important administrative reform had been implemented in Bishkek, during which the boundaries of districts were changed. New management units were created in the Lenin and Pervomaisky districts for more efficient resolution of local issues. Over the past year, six social facilities were built in the city, 18 streets were repaired, and over two thousand new streetlights were installed. Special attention was given to the renovation of the kindergarten in the village of Orok and the modernization of utility networks.

The process of digitalization is also actively ongoing. The "My City" app has already been installed by over 530 thousand users. Now residents can track public transport movements in real-time and plan routes considering transfers. "Smart stops" with voice notifications are being introduced in Bishkek, as well as the "Auto-Evacuation" system. Additionally, tenants of municipal land have the opportunity to pay for services and process documents online, avoiding visits to the city hall.

A key achievement of the year was the creation of the General Development Plan for Bishkek until 2050, developed in collaboration with experts from St. Petersburg. The project has already been discussed with residents, and now the authorities are focused on implementing a clear plan that will help the city develop for many years to come.
