Felix Kulov on the situation around Tashiev and early elections

The former Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, in a conversation with Semetei Amanbekov on the channel "Exclusive.kg," shared his opinion on the conspiracy, the role of the security forces, and possible ambitions for the presidency.

Discussions surrounding the possible resignation of Kamchybek Tashiev, who holds the position of chairman of the State National Security Committee and is the deputy chairman of the government, have become one of the hottest topics in recent days. This is related to accusations of destabilizing the situation and the proposal for early presidential elections, as well as an appeal from a group of 75 people.

Felix Kulov, the former Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan and one of the country's most experienced politicians, shared his views on the current situation in an interview with journalist Semetei Amanbekov on the YouTube channel "Exclusive.kg."

He noted that such initiatives do not arise out of nowhere and believes that the discussion of early elections may be a consequence of internal political tension caused by the president's statements at the Kurultai regarding excesses by certain security officials.

Kulov expressed the opinion that the topic of early elections could be used as a means of pressure or insurance for various influential groups. He also added that from a legal standpoint, there are no grounds for extraordinary elections, as the laws clearly regulate the timelines for regular elections.

In response to a question about Tashiev's possible presidential ambitions, Kulov emphasized that formally any citizen can run for office; however, under the current political situation and the high support for the sitting president, participation in the elections would require significant resources and a strategic approach.

Moreover, he suggested that discussions about elections could serve as a distraction from other processes and internal conflicts, as well as an attempt to create tension among the elites. Kulov added that holding early elections could lead to instability, which in Kyrgyz political practice has already led to crises multiple times.

The interview also discusses issues related to the role of security structures, the responsibility of individual employees, and the logic of decision-making at the highest level. Kulov noted that final conclusions can only be made after all investigative actions are completed.
