On February 17, information appeared in Kyrgyz media and social networks that Toktorbaev was allegedly planning to say goodbye to the municipal staff; however, these rumors have not been confirmed.
The press service of the cabinet of ministers also confirmed that the mayor of Osh is participating in a meeting of the board, which is taking place in the southern capital under the leadership of the head of the cabinet of ministers, Adylbek Kasymaliev. The agenda included discussions on socio-economic development, the fulfillment of assignments, and discipline.
Later that same day, Toktorbaev gathered the staff of the mayor's office to comment on the rumors about his resignation. He called this information fake, expressed gratitude for the support from citizens, and emphasized the importance of honest work in the interests of the people. The mayor also urged his colleagues to take their responsibilities seriously and continue to perform their work.
