Felix Kulov, a former Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, shared his opinion on the recent personnel decisions made by President Japarov, characterizing them as important for strengthening the institutions of power and protecting constitutional order.

He noted that the decision to release Kamchybek Tashiev and the dismissal of several employees from law enforcement agencies demonstrated the priority of legislation and the interests of the state over personal connections.

Kulov believes that the current events indicate the beginning of a cleansing of the system. According to him, after the arrests, discussions about possible abuses in national security have started to emerge in society, which had previously remained out of sight.

Furthermore, the former Prime Minister emphasized the need for not only a legal but also a political assessment of the current events. In this regard, he proposed the creation of a special commission to study the causes of violations and develop recommendations for their prevention.

Kulov stressed that such a commission should operate transparently and include lawyers, representatives of the academic community, the civil sector, and human rights defenders.

He also highlighted the importance of creating a separate commission to improve governance within the state system. In his opinion, Kyrgyzstan needs to transition from crisis management to a stage of institutional development, which implies expanding local powers and increasing the efficiency of government bodies.

The former Prime Minister assured that the President's steps are an important move towards revitalizing the system and transitioning to a more mature model of governance.
