The Jogorku Kenesh approved the proposal to reduce the number of auditors in the Accounts Chamber from 9 to 3 people.
The initiative to develop this draft law belongs to the President of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Almazbek Akmatov, the chairman of the Accounts Chamber, emphasized that this legislative initiative is aimed at improving the legal regulation of the Accounts Chamber's operations and ensuring its institutional, functional, and financial independence in accordance with international standards of external state audit (INTOSAI).
The draft law also provides for a reduction in the number of auditors in the Accounts Chamber from nine to three. This means that the structure of the Accounts Chamber will consist of only three auditors, including a chairperson appointed from among them, as well as the staff and territorial divisions of the Accounts Chamber.
