Janar Akayev, a deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh, will become the new mayor of the southern capital of Kyrgyzstan, according to information received by the editorial staff of Vesti.kg from reliable sources.
The presentation of Akayev before the team is scheduled for tomorrow, February 19.
It should be noted that the position was previously held by Jenishbek Toktorbaev.
Janar Akayev was born on December 13, 1986, in Kabylen-Kol, located in the Alai district of the Osh region.
In 2011, he graduated from Osh State University with a degree in journalism.
From 2008 to 2014, he worked in the Kyrgyz editorial office of Radio Azattyk, and in 2015 he became the press secretary of the president.
On October 4, 2015, Akayev was elected as a deputy of the VI convocation of parliament from the Social Democratic Party of Kyrgyzstan.
In 2021, he was re-elected as a deputy of the VII convocation from the Alliance party.
Additionally, he was re-elected in the elections held on October 30, 2025.
