The Central District Court of Seoul has issued a ruling in the case of former President Yoon Suk-yeol, finding him guilty of organizing a rebellion. This was reported by the "Renhap" agency.

Initially, the prosecution sought the death penalty for him, but ultimately the court sentenced him to life imprisonment.

It should be noted that in early December 2024, Yoon Suk-yeol declared a state of emergency in the country, justifying this decision by the need to combat "pro-North Korean anti-state forces." However, the state of emergency lasted only a few hours before parliament revoked it. Soon after, lawmakers voted for the impeachment of the president, which led to his removal from power and subsequent arrest.
