Kyrgyzstan has banned the export of catalysts and precious metals for six months
This decision was signed by the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Adylbek Kasymaliev.
The main goal of the introduced ban is to protect human health, as well as to safeguard the environment and flora and fauna, which implies reducing atmospheric pollution caused by vehicle emissions.
"Catalysts are one of the most valuable components of a vehicle's exhaust system, and their cost can reach 13% of the total price of the vehicle. Recently, there has been an increase in cases of theft and voluntary removal of catalysts from cars for subsequent resale to obtain significant profits," the official statement notes.
