On February 19, the mayor of Bishkek, Aibek Junushaliev, conducted an inspection of this construction site, after which several strict instructions were given.
First and foremost, the owners were ordered to demolish the metal structure installed in place of the fountains at TSUM.
“If the company does not begin dismantling within three days, we will involve the UKZ. All costs for dismantling will fall on the company that built these structures. This is not up for discussion,” the mayor stated.
The city administration is particularly critical of two controversial objects. Tashiev also expressed criticism when he held the position of chairman of the GKNB.
In December, he demanded the removal of structures and stops that narrow the roadway. Additionally, he pointed out the need to demolish the third floor of the building under construction, as per the materials provided to the city administration and the Ministry of Construction, it should be a two-story building.
What do the owners say?
This information pleased the citizens who had already lost hope for an improvement in the appearance of the city center. In the Old Bishkek project, the dismantling of the three-story building and the construction of the controversial structure at the site of the fountains have been temporarily suspended. Shortly after this, statements regarding the ownership of this object emerged.
VIA "24.kg" reported that the Old Bishkek project is an independent initiative.
Later, TSUM "Aichurek" published a statement indicating that it has no relation to the building being constructed. Recall that during the inspection on February 19, the city administration reported that the building under construction near TSUM "Aichurek" does not comply with the approved project and urban planning standards.
Thus, it can be assumed that a third company is involved in the construction on this problematic territory?
But the company itself previously emphasized the significance of the fountains for TSUM and explained why the willows were removed.
What is known about the third company?
LLC "Central Aizhan Trade Company" has already been mentioned in materials about the new structure project that TSUM distributed in 2025.According to information from the Ministry of Justice, LLC "Central Aizhan Trade Company" is registered in the Lenin district of Bishkek at the address: Berdibaeva St., 87.
