A new unified operator in the field of weapons has been launched in Kyrgyzstan — the state enterprise "Asker Service." This became possible thanks to a decree signed by the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev on the reorganization of the structures of the Ministry of Defense.
During this reorganization, "Kyrgyzkorgooservis" was renamed to "Asker Service" and received expanded powers. Now, this enterprise will act as the official intermediary for all export-import and re-export transactions related to military, special, and dual-use products. Moreover, "Asker Service" will be responsible for domestic state procurement of weapons, military equipment, ammunition, and special gear for the Armed Forces of Kyrgyzstan and other military formations, as well as for issues related to the development of the defense industry, the introduction of new technologies, and the implementation of import substitution programs.
In addition, the new state institution will engage in trade and household services for military personnel and their families living in garrisons and military towns.
To improve the financial condition of the Ministry of Defense, it was instructed to allocate funds for the repayment of debts of reorganized departmental companies.
