Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan: Europe needs to reconsider its security architecture

Global security is threatened by distrust between states and a new arms race, including weapons of mass destruction (WMD).

On February 23, in Geneva, at a high-level disarmament conference, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, Jeenbek Kulubaev, delivered a speech. This information was published by the press service of the country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Kulubaev emphasized that the global security system is undergoing negative changes. Distrust between countries is increasing, existing treaty agreements are losing their effectiveness, and a new arms race is being observed, including in the field of weapons of mass destruction (WMD).

The minister called for a reassessment of the existing security architecture in Europe to prevent potential major conflicts that could negatively affect the stability and security of the international community. He also noted that Kyrgyzstan consistently supports the ideas of nuclear disarmament and actively works towards its non-proliferation.
