Kyrgyzstan organized a diplomatic reception in Geneva

On February 24, in Geneva, as part of the 61st session of the UN Human Rights Council, a diplomatic reception was held, organized by the Kyrgyz side. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan.

In his welcoming speech, Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev emphasized the importance of Geneva as one of the world's centers of diplomacy. He noted that in the context of growing conflicts, humanitarian crises, and climate threats, the UN Human Rights Council remains "the most important tool for dialogue and preventing systemic human rights violations in the world."

Kulubaev also added that following Kyrgyzstan's third membership in the Council, which will conclude in 2025, "the commitment to human rights for the country takes on a practical character and becomes the foundation of both internal and external policy."

The Minister of Foreign Affairs confirmed that Kyrgyzstan will continue to be "a consistent supporter and defender of international institutions, UN reform, and fair representation of countries in significant bodies of this organization."

Additionally, he noted that thanks to "the political will of the leaders of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan," a long-standing border issue in the Fergana Valley was successfully resolved, which contributed to strengthening security and trust in Central Asia.

Kulubaev also emphasized the active role of the country in preserving nomadic culture, promoting the agenda for sustainable development in mountain regions, and invited attendees to the World Nomad Games in 2026 and the Second Global Mountain Summit in 2027.

In conclusion, the minister assured UN delegates of Kyrgyzstan's unwavering "multivector course aimed at upholding high standards of humanism, strengthening global peace, security, and ensuring fundamental human rights," as reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan.
