“We need strict and serious leaders right now”
Beremet Baryktabasova, head of the Medical Union of Kyrgyzstan, addressed the president of the country regarding the recent dismissal of Health Minister Kanibek Dosmabetov.
She emphasized that the medical sector urgently requires the strictness and seriousness of leaders like Dosmabetov.
“In the history of healthcare, there has never been so much strength and intention from leaders. We can honestly say that the sector is on the brink of collapse due to the takeover of the state system in the field of drug supply and laboratory services. Key areas of medicine are experiencing decline, poverty, and degradation. This minister instilled hope in us. Please keep him with us. If the appointment to the position of health minister is perceived as exile, send him to that exile, but do not interfere with him due to the political situation,” she stated.
It is worth noting that the day before, two ministers were dismissed: Kanibek Dosmabetov, the Minister of Health, and Bakyt Torobaev, the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Food Processing Industry.
