- During the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh held on February 25, the deputies approved the draft law "On the Ratification of the Protocol on Amendments to the Agreement between the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Border Crossing Points dated December 25, 2003, signed on August 22, 2025, in Bishkek" in the first reading.

The speaker at the meeting was the Chairman of the State Border Service of the Kyrgyz Republic, Abdikarim Alimbaev.

In his speech, he emphasized that the draft law proposes changing the status of the border crossing points "Tömönkü-Chüy-road" ("Kamyshanovka-road") and "Kichi-Kapka-road" from bilateral to multilateral (international), as well as transitioning the "Tömönkü-Chüy-road" point to a 24-hour operation mode instead of operating only during daylight hours.

"The necessity for changing the status of these border crossing points lies in creating more favorable conditions for the development of tourism, increasing the flow of cargo and passengers, attracting foreign tourists, and improving infrastructure," noted Abdikarim Alimbaev.
