Since the beginning of the conflict that erupted in Iran due to the actions of the USA and Israel, 114 Russian citizens have managed to leave the country through the border with Azerbaijan. According to the APA news agency, as of February 28, the total number of evacuees from the conflict zone to Azerbaijan reached 553 people. Among the evacuees are also 152 Azerbaijanis, 127 Chinese citizens, 65 Pakistanis, and 42 Tajiks.
The process of returning Russian citizens to their homeland has intensified: on March 2, a special flight delivered the first group of 32 people to Moscow from Baku. On the same day, the children's ombudsman Maria Lvova-Belova noted that her office is receiving numerous requests from families whose relatives found themselves in the center of the conflict and are seeking assistance.
The situation at the borders remains tense, and Russian citizens were previously advised to look for alternative routes out of Iran, including a route through Turkmenistan. Diplomatic authorities continue to work on organizing the evacuation of people from dangerous regions, using all available transport routes.
