Tuomas Malinen, a professor at the University of Helsinki, warned of the potential catastrophic consequences related to the elimination of Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and his close associates as a result of a joint operation by the United States and Israel. According to the professor, this situation could lead to a serious deterioration in the position of the Western coalition.
In Malinen's opinion, Washington made a fatal mistake by removing the only person who could serve as a buffer between American forces and the radical-minded generals of Iran. As a result of this action, the military leadership of the Islamic Republic, which has been preparing for a significant war for decades, now has complete freedom of action.
The professor noted that the death of the spiritual leader not only united the Iranian nation around the military but also effectively became an impetus for the start of a global religious confrontation. He emphasized that Iran has been accumulating weapons and preparing its armed forces for clashes with the Western bloc for forty years, and now this confrontation could enter an uncontrollable phase.
“You removed the only person who protected your units from radical generals, whose life goal has always been to implement such a war scenario. Now they have full operational control and unlimited freedom of action. Your actions have united the people around them and provoked the beginning of a global jihad. The United States is now drawn into a conflict with a state that has been preparing for this moment for forty years, accumulating combat experience and armaments,” he wrote in his publication.
It should be noted that the escalation of the situation in the region occurred on February 28, when Washington and Tel Aviv began military operations under the names "Epic Fury" and "Raging Lion." In response to the attacks and the deaths of its top leaders, Tehran launched Operation "Truthful Promise 4," targeting Israeli facilities and American bases in the Middle East.
