The akyn Askat Zhetigen was released from the SHIZO.
The head of the State Penitentiary Service, Chyngyz Kozhoshev, visited the colony, where he released Zhetigen and held a conversation with the staff about the necessity of respecting the rights of prisoners and creating humane conditions of detention.
The press service of the State Penitentiary Service of the Kyrgyz Republic Kaktus.media confirmed that Kozhoshev was indeed on site and communicated with both the convicts and the staff of the colony, discussing the importance of adhering to internal regulations and human rights.
Earlier, in his letter, Zhetigen stated that on March 2, the head of the operational department of the colony, Ulan, sent him to the SHIZO, threatening him with "harsh conditions" and accusing him of agitating the convicts. The poet rejected these accusations, calling them "absolute lies" and emphasizing that he has never supported criminal elements. The issue was taken up by the Ombudsman’s office, while the State Penitentiary Service denied the allegations, stating that the information about violations of Zhetigen's rights is not true.
