The proposal for amendments was initiated by the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers.
The changes included in the Protocol are aimed at addressing shortcomings identified in law enforcement; clarifying the terms used in the Treaty on the Union; as well as empowering the Eurasian Economic Commission to approve the methodology for determining obstacles in the internal market of the Eurasian Economic Union and recognizing barriers and restrictions as eliminated.
