Zhapаров to deputies about the construction of houses by GIK Tumanbaev: If you are ready to build, come forward

At the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh on March 11, Japarov announced that the authorized capital of the State Mortgage Company amounted to $2 billion. He noted that this year about 20,000 families will receive keys to their apartments. The majority of construction is taking place in the Jalal-Abad, Osh, Batken, and Chui regions, with less activity in Talas, Naryn, Cholpon-Ata, Balykchy, and Karakol.

The president also commented on the criticism from deputies who questioned why, despite free land, apartments are sold not at cost but with a markup. "If this continues, we will have to allocate budget funds annually, which will lead to the bankruptcy of the SMC," he warned.

Nevertheless, Japarov emphasized that the apartments offered by the SMC are still cheaper than similar offers from private developers.

He cited that the price of housing from construction companies can reach $2,000 to $3,000, while the SMC offers housing for $750 per square meter in the regions and $700 in Bishkek. "Prices are higher in the regions because delivery of rebar and concrete is required. The SMC additionally considers expenses that can raise the cost to $900-$1,000," the president added.

Japarov also noted that he had heard opinions that only Tumanbaev has the right to build. "If you have a construction company, come to me. I will allocate land for you. Build for this amount. I approached elite companies with an offer to build for $700, but they laughed and said it was impossible. That's why we created our own company and started collaborating with those who are willing to work. Former mayor of Osh, Jenishbek Toktorbaev, is building such houses.
