The congress was convened in accordance with the requirements of Article 36 of the updated law "On Mediation." According to current legislation, the congress is the highest body that makes decisions regarding the establishment of the Chamber and determines the strategy for the development of mediation in the country.
Preparation for the congress was organized by a special committee established by the Ministry of Justice order on December 26, 2025. Draft internal regulations of the Chamber were presented in advance for open discussion: registered participants had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the documents on the official website and propose their amendments.
During the congress, an important strategic initiative was also discussed — Kyrgyzstan's accession to the UN Convention on International Settlement Agreements Resulting from Mediation, known as the Singapore Convention.
Participants of the congress noted that integration into the international legal field would allow the recognition of mediation results conducted in Kyrgyzstan beyond its borders. This will strengthen the legal system of the republic and create additional guarantees for foreign investors, ensuring transparent and effective dispute resolution mechanisms.
