On March 17, the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh, which deals with issues of constitutional legislation, state structure, local self-government, and regulations, held a meeting where a draft law amending the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic "On the Status of Deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic" was reviewed and approved in the first reading.
Deputy Dastan Bekeshev acted as the initiator of this document.
According to him, the main goal of the draft law is to clarify Article 33 of the law by clearly defining the types of activities that deputies can engage in besides their primary work. In particular, it is planned to eliminate ambiguities related to the definitions of "scientific," "pedagogical," and "creative" activities, which will help avoid risky situations related to the potential loss of mandate.
In addition, the committee's agenda also included draft laws approved in the third reading: "On State Awards, Honorary Titles, and State Prizes of the Kyrgyz Republic," as well as "On Amendments to the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic 'On the Guarantees of the Activities of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Status of the Ex-President of the Kyrgyz Republic'."
