The Cabinet proposes to ban the import of gypsum boards and panels without ornamentation for 6 months.
The ban concerns such goods as boards, sheets, panels, and tiles without ornamentation, which are covered or reinforced only with paper or cardboard.
According to the proposed document, a six-month ban on the import of these products by road transport is planned. These goods are classified under code 6809 11 000 0 according to the EAEU Customs Code.
The draft also states that the Ministry of Economy and Commerce must notify the World Trade Organization and the Eurasian Economic Commission about the introduction of the temporary restriction no later than three days before the resolution comes into effect. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs must send a similar notification to the Executive Committee of the CIS.
The responsibility for taking measures to prevent the illegal import of these goods will be assigned to the State Customs Service and the Border Service. Control over compliance with the resolution is proposed to be assigned to the Department for Monitoring the Implementation of Decisions of the President and the Cabinet of Ministers of the Presidential Administration.
The resolution will come into effect 15 days after its official publication.
