Kyrgyzstan will be given time to adapt to the EAEU technical regulation on paint and varnish products
The EEC Council convened on March 13, 2026.
The head of the EAEU Coordination Department at the Ministry of Economy, Elimbek Kanybek uulu, spoke about key decisions regarding the Kyrgyz Republic.
Among the important issues discussed were technical regulations for paint products, personal protective equipment, and the labeling of confectionery products.
Kanybek uulu reminded that before joining the EAEU, Kyrgyzstan had its own national standards. Since then, work has begun on harmonizing these norms.
“We understand that our market is not always ready to instantly implement all new norms. We have domestic manufacturers of paint products.
The technical regulation on the safety of paint products in the EAEU will come into effect in 2028, and for Kyrgyzstan, it will be in 2032. This will allow the market to prepare,” noted Kanybek uulu.
As for personal protective equipment, Kyrgyzstan already has its own standards in this area. However, the adoption of the new technical regulation will lead to an expansion of the national list.
