Financial Rehabilitation: Kyrgyzstan Increases Healthcare Wages

Starting April 1, nurses' salaries will increase almost threefold

The Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic has announced a significant increase in salaries for healthcare workers. This was reported by Klara Oskonbaeva, head of the budget policy and financial analysis department of the Ministry of Health, during the broadcast of the program "Elden Sobol."

According to the provided data, the base rate for mid-level medical personnel will rise from 11,968 soms to 19,360 soms. The main tool for this increase will be a presidential compensation set at 15,000 soms per position.

According to Klara Oskonbaeva, the total payment will amount to approximately 36,000 soms. After deductions for taxes and social contributions, the "net" salary for specialists without experience will be around 29,000 soms. This means nearly a threefold increase in real income for the most vulnerable category of workers in the sector.

Experts view this initiative as a way to prevent the outflow of qualified personnel from the public sector. On average, across the country, a doubling of the wage fund for medical workers is expected starting in April 2026, which will be the largest one-time increase in the social sphere in recent years.
