




On March 26, a meeting took place in the capital of Russia between the Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh, Marlen Mamataliyev, and the Chairperson of the Federation Council, Valentina Matviyenko. This was reported by the press service of the KR Jogorku Kenesh.
During the meeting, issues concerning the development of bilateral relations were discussed. The parties expressed their intention to strengthen inter-parliamentary dialogue and seek new formats for cooperation.










Matviyenko noted the significance of the visit, emphasizing that it demonstrates the priority of allied relations between Kyrgyzstan and Russia.
Discussing economic issues, the parties highlighted the importance of aligning legislation and creating comfortable conditions for doing business. The topic of increasing trade turnover to 5 billion dollars and expanding cooperation in areas such as energy, agriculture, transport, and tourism was also addressed.
Mamataliyev expressed interest in further strengthening strategic partnership and suggested more active use of parliamentary committees and international platforms.






The Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh also drew attention to the increasing number of women deputies in the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan, who now make up 31 out of 90 deputies. This aspect became a separate topic of discussion.
Touching on issues of labor migration, Mamataliyev raised the problems faced by Kyrgyz citizens in Russia and proposed possible solutions, taking into account the nature of the allied relations between the two countries, as reported by the press service of the Jogorku Kenesh.
