Today, March 27, the Bishkek City Court continued the proceedings in the case of activists, among whom are 22 people, including politicians and journalists. Many of them are under house arrest.

Among the accused are Mambetjunus Abylov, Aydanbek Akmatov, Nurlan Asanbekov, Akylbek Aitbaev, Azimbek Beknazarov, Marat Bayazov, Erlan Bekchoro uulu, Aibek Buzurmankulov, Atai Beyshenbek uulu, Ravshan Zheenbekov, Gulnara Jura baeva, Chyngyz Kaparov, Rita Karasartova, Zhenish Moldokmatov, Ulukbek Mamatayev, Temir Mahmudov, Talaybek Made minov, Klara Sooronkulova, Perizat Suranova, Asiya Sasykbaeva, Ilgiz Saryldyk uulu (Ilgiz Shamenov), and Shabdan Ali.

It is worth noting that the agreement with Uzbekistan on the border, signed in the fall of 2022, became a cause of public discontent. As a result, activists who opposed this agreement were detained in October 2022 and accused of organizing mass riots.

Some materials in the case were classified, making it difficult for the lawyers to work. Subsequently, the accused were charged under Article 326 "Violent seizure of power".

On June 14, the court issued an acquittal, however, the prosecution filed an appeal against this decision.

Currently, the case is being reviewed in the court of the second instance.
