Poet Markabai Aamatov
Poet M. Aamatov was born in the village of Lai-Talaa in the Soviet district of the Osh region in a teacher's family. In 1970, he graduated from the Kyzyl-Dzhol Secondary School, and in 1976 — from the philological faculty of the Osh Pedagogical Institute. He then worked for one year as a translator for the Osh regional newspaper "Lenin yolu."
