A presentation of a new pilot project aimed at implementing a solar photovoltaic installation with a battery energy storage system (BESS) in the commercial sector took place in Bishkek. This project was implemented with the support of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic.
According to the ministry, solar panels with a total capacity of about 50 kilowatts and a battery system capable of storing up to 200 kilowatt-hours of energy have been installed at the site. A digital power consumption management system (PMS/EMS), based on Korean technologies and engineering solutions, has also been implemented.
This system operates in both grid mode (on-grid), which allows for peak load smoothing and optimization of electricity usage, and in off-grid mode, providing power supply in case of emergency outages and supporting the operation of the microgrid.
Representatives from government agencies, businesses, higher education institutions, and international organizations attended the event.
The Ministry of Economy and Commerce emphasizes that the implementation of such projects contributes to creating a practical foundation for the development of a "green" economy, the introduction of modern energy technologies, and enhancing the resilience of the country's energy infrastructure.
