What barriers do businesswomen face in Kyrgyzstan, as reported by the Guarantee Fund

During the opening ceremony of the "Ring the Bell for Gender Equality" trading event, Reina Kurmankozhoeva, Deputy Chair of the Board of the Joint Stock Company "Guarantee Fund," raised an important issue regarding the difficulties faced by women entrepreneurs in Kyrgyzstan when it comes to lending. One of the main problems is the lack of collateral.

According to her, many women have limited property assets registered in their names and face challenges in accessing financial resources. Additionally, their level of financial literacy is often lower, making it difficult to interact with financial institutions. "Our goal is to eliminate the barriers arising from the lack of collateral or resources for women entrepreneurs," she noted.

It is important to mention that the Joint Stock Company "Guarantee Fund" was established in 2016 by the government of Kyrgyzstan to facilitate access to financing for entrepreneurs by providing loan guarantees. The shareholders of the fund are the government of the Kyrgyz Republic and the National Bank, which ensures its institutional stability and strategic focus.
