The Cabinet and Investors Discussed the Implementation of Energy Projects in Kyrgyzstan

Recently, a meeting was held with the participation of the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev. The issues concerning the implementation of investment agreements in the energy sector were discussed.

As reported by the press service of the Cabinet, more than 15 company leaders involved in the construction and planning of solar, wind, hydro, and thermal power plants in Kyrgyzstan joined the meeting online and via video link.

During the meeting, 12 investment agreements related to the construction of solar and wind power plants were reviewed, which involve the use of renewable energy sources with a total capacity of 5,450 MW and will be implemented starting from 2023.

Participants also discussed three investment agreements for the construction of hydroelectric power stations with a total capacity of 2,239 MW and three agreements for thermal power plants with an installed capacity of 2,685 MW.

During the discussion, issues regarding the current status of construction work, problems encountered, and possible solutions were raised with the entrepreneurs.

Kasymaliev emphasized the importance of investors' contributions to the development of the country's energy sector, urging responsibility and adherence to the commitments outlined in previously signed agreements.

Additionally, considering the growing demand for electricity in the country, he noted the Cabinet's readiness for ongoing cooperation with entrepreneurs interested in implementing projects in this area.
