The Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic has approved new amendments to the rules regarding the activities of the akyikatçı (ombudsman). This decision was formalized by Resolution No. 857, signed by the Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev.

According to the new document, the maximum number of employees of the ombudsman and his office has been increased to 120 people, of which 22 will hold positions among the technical and support staff. This decision is aimed at improving the functioning of the ombudsman institution.

Additionally, the ombudsman's office is allowed to use up to 12 units of official and duty vehicles.

The implementation of the resolution will be carried out within the approved number of employees and allocated funds from the republican budget, taking into account the transfer of necessary staff positions and finances from the National Center for the Prevention of Torture and Other Cruel Treatment.

The State Agency for the Management of State Property has been instructed to transfer the material and technical resources intended for the work of the National Center for the Prevention of Torture to the ombudsman's office in the established manner.

The Ministry of Finance should take into account the changes resulting from this resolution when preparing the draft law on amendments to the republican budget for 2026 and the planned period of 2027-2028, as well as when drafting the budget for later years.
