Deputy Dastan Bekeshev stated that the changes will affect the most vulnerable segments of the population in the country.
A rise in the prices of legal services is expected in Kyrgyzstan. This was reported by Deputy Dastan Bekeshev on his Telegram page.
According to him, a relevant draft law is currently being discussed in parliament.
“The term ‘legal representative’ is planned to be introduced in the country. At court hearings, you will be able to be represented by: yourself, your close relatives, lawyers, or legal representatives. However, an ordinary citizen who knows the laws will not be able to represent their interests in court, as only those with a higher legal education, three years of work experience in jurisprudence, and registered with the bar can become legal representatives. This will lead to an increase in the cost of legal services, and the poor and socially vulnerable segments of society will feel this the most, while the wealthy are unlikely to notice any changes,” noted Dastan Bekeshev.
Furthermore, he added that these changes will also affect the lawyers themselves, as there will be increased control over their activities, and they will have to pay membership fees.
