Today, February 2, the Supreme Court of Kyrgyzstan was supposed to consider the petition from the defense of Mahabat Tajibek kyzy, a journalist from the "Ait ait dese" project, to reopen the court proceedings in her case based on newly discovered circumstances. However, the hearing was postponed, as confirmed by the press service of the Supreme Court, which stated that the reason for the postponement was the large volume of case materials and the need for additional time to analyze them. The new date for the hearing is set for March 3 at 11 a.m.

It is important to remind that Mahabat Tajibek kyzy was detained in January 2024 along with ten other employees of Temirov Live, and they were charged with organizing mass riots. On February 25, 2025, the Supreme Court of Kyrgyzstan reviewed the appeal of three of the detained journalists and upheld the verdict of the previous instance: Mahabat was sentenced to six years in prison, Azamat Ishenbekov received five years, and Aike Beyshikeeva was placed on probation for three years. Additionally, the court sentenced Aktilek Kaparov to three years of probation, and he did not contest this decision. The other seven defendants in the case were acquitted due to lack of evidence of a crime.

Today's hearing concerned the procedural issue of the possibility of accepting the defense's petition for consideration.
