Sadyr Japarov met with the directors of driving schools
Today, February 3, Sadyr Japarov, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, visited the State Center for Vehicle Registration and Driver Licensing, where he met with the directors of private driving schools and trainees. During the visit, the head of state detailed the measures aimed at reducing the number of road traffic accidents.

In his speech, the president noted that for a long time, there had been cases of corruption in the driver training system. This led to over 90% of students from private driving schools passing their exams successfully, even though their level of knowledge often did not meet the necessary standards. However, with the introduction of systemic measures to combat corruption and increased oversight, this situation has begun to change: the success rate for passing exams has now dropped to 18–20%, reflecting the actual preparedness of candidates.

Sadyr Japarov expressed confidence that with the elimination of the human factor, the possibility of illegally obtaining driver's licenses would be completely excluded. He also provided shocking statistics: over the past decades, there have been about 75,000 traffic accidents in the country, resulting in 9,120 deaths.

During the meeting, the president also mentioned cases of illegal privatization, noting that one of the driving school directors had appropriated about 70 educational facilities. Sadyr Japarov stated that all these schools would be returned to the state, and the educational process would be organized according to unified standards with a training duration of ten months. The main focus will be on the quality of training and the formation of a culture of safe driving.

The president emphasized that the ten-month training period does not imply daily classes. The educational process will be adapted to modern conditions: classes will be held several times a week, including online, allowing students to combine their studies with work. This will create all the necessary conditions for fully mastering the skills, and passing the exams will be possible immediately after completing the course, enabling the training of drivers from an early age.
