At the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh held on February 4, deputies Ulukbek Uzakbaev and Marlen Mamataliev expressed support for reforms in driver training.

Uzakbaev emphasized that the reforms are taking place due to accumulated problems. "The state has not made changes in the issuance of driver's licenses for a long time. Driver's licenses were sold in unauthorized places, and private companies forged documents. In 2025, as a result of traffic accidents, 900 people died, including 99 children. We must remember such tragedies and take them into account in our work," he noted.

According to the deputy, no reform is painless, and currently, a trial regime is being implemented, which will last until August 30.

Uzakbaev urged his colleagues to stop discussions and allow the state to complete the work it has started. "The safety of citizens is a priority. A car can become the cause of a tragedy, and this issue must be under control," he added.

Marlen Mamataliev, for his part, noted that reforms take time and can lead to significant changes. "A cosmetic repair in an old building will not solve the problem. We need to completely rebuild. We have serious issues with driver's licenses, and we cannot ignore them. In the past, licenses were even given as birthday gifts without the need for training. Some police officers sold licenses. Taxi drivers in Moscow were banned from working due to dubious licenses, and as a result, about a thousand people die each year. This is a real tragedy. Let's give time for the reforms to take place, the results of which will be noticeable later," he addressed his colleagues.
