
At the parliamentary meeting on February 12, Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu announced his decision to leave his position. He emphasized that the resignation was his personal choice and that he was not under any pressure.
According to the speaker, he does not believe it is right to associate his decision with specific individuals. Turgunbek uulu was elected as the speaker of the VII convocation of the Jogorku Kenesh on October 5, 2022, and since then he has aimed to enhance the authority of the parliament and facilitate the adoption of significant laws and decisions important for the people of Kyrgyzstan and its future.
He noted that political stability in the country is maintained, which contributes to development and growth, and expressed gratitude to the team led by Sadyr Nurgozhoevich, as well as to the entire Kyrgyz parliament for their contributions to this process. Turgunbek uulu also added that he will continue his work as a deputy.
It is worth recalling that Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu was elected as a deputy from the 15th district in the parliamentary elections last year, and on December 17, 2025, he took the position of speaker of the VIII convocation of the Jogorku Kenesh.
