"It is wrong to associate me with anyone"
Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu spoke at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, where he explained the reasons for his decision to leave the position of speaker.
According to him, the parliamentary delegation returned from Turkey the day before, and the visit was successful, with high results from all meetings.
However, political events occurred in Kyrgyzstan that led to expressions of opinions about him. "I do not serve one or two people; I serve the people of Kyrgyzstan and the parliament. It is wrong to associate me with anyone," he noted. Turgunbek uulu was elected speaker of the seventh convocation in 2022 and continues to fulfill his duties, contributing to key decisions for the country.
In his opinion, political stability in the republic positively affects development and economic growth. He noted that this achievement is linked to the work of President Sadyr Japarov, his team, and the parliament.
To prevent conflicts and scandals, Turgunbek uulu decided to step down as speaker. "This was my own decision; no one pressured me, and I will not allow that to happen," he emphasized.
He also highlighted the importance of continuing the reforms initiated by the president to ensure stability in the country. "I ask you to consider my decision," Turgunbek uulu added.
It is important to note that despite stepping down as speaker, Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu will remain a deputy.
