Today, February 12, a vote was held in the Jogorku Kenesh, where the deputies elected Marlen Mamataliyev as the new speaker of parliament. This decision was made unanimously, as he was the only candidate for the position.
The voting took place in a closed session and concluded quickly. A total of 83 deputies participated, of which:
77 expressed support for Mamataliyev; 5 opposed.
It is worth noting that earlier today, Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu, who held the position of speaker, announced his resignation at his own request.
