Veterinary services of Central Asian countries strengthen border control
In the capital of Kazakhstan, Astana, an urgent meeting of the heads of veterinary services of Central Asia took place, where measures to protect against dangerous animal diseases were discussed. The director of the relevant service of Kyrgyzstan, Adilet Sotovaldiyev, represented the country at this meeting.

One of the central issues was the discussion of transboundary infections that can spread rapidly between states. The participants of the meeting reached an agreement on the necessity of creating a unified security mechanism to prevent disease outbreaks and protect agriculture in the region.

This meeting, organized with the support of the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH), became an important platform for coordinating efforts to ensure biosecurity in Central Asia.
