According to court data, the former head has been charged under Article 336 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, concerning corruption. The investigator from the Military Prosecutor's Office filed a petition for his arrest and detention in a pre-trial facility for the specified period.
The final decision on the preventive measure will be made by the court.
On February 10, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov, signed a decree according to which Kamchybek Tashiev was relieved of his duties as Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the State National Security Committee.
He was replaced by Jumgalbek Shabdanbekov, who became the acting head of the GKNB.
In addition, three deputies of the GKNB chairman were dismissed.
On February 14, there was a change in the head of the Main Directorate of the GKNB for Bishkek: Ulan Biibosunov was appointed instead of Eldar Jakypbekov. And on February 15, Jakypbekov was detained.
