According to Jumgalbek Shabdanbekov, the head of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB) of Kyrgyzstan, the agency must operate independently of political parties and ideologies. He made this statement in an interview with a correspondent from VB.KG.
Shabdanbekov emphasized that the implementation of the reform will focus on prioritizing professional qualities rather than political affiliations. He also added that the committee intends to completely eliminate appointments based on regional principles.
“We are moving from geographical criteria to criteria of competence,” he noted, emphasizing that this is a necessary step towards building a mature state model.
