At the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh on February 25, Gulya Kozhokulova asked when the mayor of Bishkek, Aibek Junushaliev, would start changing his approach to his work. The deputy emphasized that the mayor has a large team consisting of five deputies, four akims, as well as various departments and administrations, yet the number of complaints from citizens is not decreasing.

Kozhokulova noted that complaints continue regarding the poor performance of public transport, which does not adhere to the schedule, as well as its condition. "Transport continues to operate according to old schemes, like marshrutkas," she said. The deputy also pointed out issues with preserving cultural heritage and chaotic construction, reminding about the recent scandal near the TSUM, when the mayor was unable to explain the situation, although residents were already informed through social media. "Why do we allow such incidents? Control over construction in the city is a very important topic. Bishkek is experiencing a severe shortage of social facilities, and the condition of courtyards leaves much to be desired. Akims do not attend meetings with the population, relying only on house committees and quarter leaders. There is a lack of close contact with citizens. I am convinced that if the mayor's office does not start making changes in its work, it will lead to serious problems," Kozhokulova concluded.
