Kyrgyzstan and Japan are considering the possibility of creating a museum on the territory of the Ak-Beshim settlement

The archaeological complex of Ak-Beshim, located in Kyrgyzstan, may soon become home to a new museum, as revealed during a meeting between museum director Zhyldyz Bakashova and a Japanese delegation.

Japanese scholars arrived in the country to discuss the creation of this museum.

The delegation included experts such as Sakakibara Yoji, Kamoda Masato, and renowned archaeologist Iwai Shumpei, who has been working in the Chuy Valley for over ten years.

During the discussions, the parties noted the importance of experience exchange for the preservation of archaeological heritage, as well as the creation of modern museum complexes.

At the end of the meeting, Zhyldyz Bakashova confirmed the readiness of the national historical museum to expand international cooperation and support joint scientific projects.

It is worth noting that Ak-Beshim is the remains of a trading city that existed from the 5th to the 11th century. This archaeological site is considered one of the most famous in Central Asia and was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2014 as part of the cultural heritage of the "Silk Road."
