Starting from January, Kyrgyz citizens must have $5,000 to $15,000 to ensure they do not "run away."
The U.S. Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic has announced that students planning to travel to the U.S. are exempt from the requirement to pay a visa bond.
The diplomatic mission clarified that this requirement does not apply to holders of F or M visas. The bond is only necessary for those applying for a B1/B2 business or tourist visa.
It is worth noting that starting January 21, 2026, a new requirement from the U.S. State Department will be introduced for citizens of 38 countries, including Kyrgyzstan. The amount of the bond will be determined by the embassy representative during the interview.
