Askat Alagozov, the press secretary of the president, revealed details about the dismissal of Urmatbek Shamyurkanov from the position of head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
He noted that the decision was a result of suspicions of bribery that occurred while Shamyurkanov was acting as deputy minister.
According to available information, during the summer of 2025, he allegedly demanded money for assistance in promoting one of the Ministry of Emergency Situations employees. This employee claims that part of the requested amount was transferred to the electronic wallet of the then-deputy minister.
After Shamyurkanov was appointed minister, the employee expressed his inability to transfer the remaining amount of money, after which he was transferred to service in the Batken region.
The situation reached President Sadyr Japarov, who instructed the General Prosecutor's Office to conduct an investigation into the stated facts. As a result of the investigation, the suspicions were confirmed.
The president emphasized that this confirms the well-known saying: "An unclean deed will become evident even after forty years." He added that in modern conditions, illegal actions can be identified much faster, which should serve as a lesson for all public servants," noted Alagozov.
