Sadyr Japarov named the incentive for deputies in the digitization of the Jogorku Kenesh
He reported that in 2024, 18 tons of paper were purchased for the needs of the parliament, in 2025 – 10 tons, and in 2026 – 9 tons.
“Over the past five years, 65 tons of paper have been spent. This is not only an imported product but also resources that we can save,” he noted, adding that printing documents consumes ink, electricity, and employee salaries.
Japarov also mentioned that Speaker Marlen Mamataliyev spoke about plans to switch to using tablets and laptops.
“The speaker is close to modern technologies, and I am confident that the transition will happen quickly. Forget about paper and pens – that is already in the past. If someone doesn’t know how to use technology, they should learn or seek help from IT specialists. Even bears can be taught to ride a bicycle. Three years ago, we transitioned the cabinet of ministers to e-government, which allowed us to save billions of soms. You can save too. The saved funds are better directed towards increasing your budgets. We switched to salary payments through electronic wallets, despite the resistance of some deputies who preferred cash, but in the end, everyone accepted it,” the president added.
